About

Pianist and vocal coach Julian Grabarek is a second-year Adler Fellow with the San Francisco Opera, where he has worked as a member of SFO’s music staff on The Magic Flute and Carmen. This year, he will work on the mainstage productions of Idomeneo, and the world premiere of Huang Ruo’s The Monkey King.

 

Grabarek completed his education at Oberlin College and Conservatory and the University of Michigan. He joined the Merola Opera Program as an apprentice coach in 2023 and has also been a guest coach and chorus master at the University of Houston. In addition to his work in opera, Grabarek regularly collaborates on recitals with both vocalists and instrumentalists, performing a wide range of repertoire, with a particular passion for the music of Mozart and Czech composers.
